Incase you are concerned about the quality of these parts I can give many references from people who have installed this armor on their halftracks. All parts are designed by myself from originals. Not just designed off of one part but many of the same. It has been a very frustrating process because there are so many variations of the same part and a lot of inconsistent measurements between two or three identical parts. I have spent many hundreds of hours perfecting them, mainly because they are also going on my vehicles and I only wanted the best on my halftracks. I've made so many parts that I've assembled them as a virtual 3D model on the SolidWorks drawing program. New parts are designed and assembled on the model before they are even made to make sure they are perfect. I have models for the M3 and M2. If you have any questions please send me a PM.
Thanks
-
Sounds really awesome! I've been contemplating weather or not I'm going to do another halftrack. If I do one I have an early M-2 frame and I was thinking about a skate rail. I think I have bought parts from you before? Off Ebay.
Don G.
-
Yes, you have bought from me before. I have just about everything for an M2. When you are ready let me know. I do have a very nice M2A1 project for sale. You can easily convert it back to an M2.

the Rear most body brackets that bolt to the top of the frame for the m2 are different than the m16.
the m16 brackets are about 1/2" shorter. i found this out when i tried to use ones off an m2 on my m16 halftrack.
-
Steve,
Thanks for the info, I had not run into that yet. I updated the description.

Superjeep,
I'm interested in a set of ammo lockers for our M2A1. The RH box should be the same as the M2, but the LH box is different.
Thank you, Karl
-
Karl,
Actually the left (drivers side) is the same on the M2 and M2A1 and the right (passenger side) is different on the M2A1. I have not made the right M2A1 yet but am working on it. They should be ready in a few weeks.

There has been some interest in the windshield frame storage boxes. I plan on making a batch but need to know how many to make. Please send me a PM and let me know if you are interested. The higher quantity I make the lower the price, so please let me know asap.
Here is a picture of the original storage box I will be using to copy from.
Also, I have added a ton of pictures of other parts at the begining of this thread on page 1, check them out.

Hi Superjeep,
What would the total be for two of the windshield frames and shipping to 63901? Thanks
-
Thought about building my own but I'm going to go with Superjeeps. Excellent work!
Don G
-
I'd buy one.
-
Where was the window storage box installed at? Was this in all models? I have never seen it in any pictures.
-
Hi I believe theses were a Greek add on for their scout car
-
I've never seen them before either but it's a good solution to where to put the windshields and they look period correct.
They should be done in a month or so. I'll have a price next week. Don't forget I also have the windshield frames to put in these boxes.

Update on the windshield storage boxes. All components are made but the boxes are not welded together yet. I would like to offer this as a kit since I don't know when I will have time to weld them together. The kit consists of the top and bottom of the box, the door and two inside dividers to keep the windshields from banging into each other. You will need two hinges and a hasp to complete the box. These can be bought at any hardware store. Also not included are any mounting tabs. Since these were not original issue to a halftrack you will have the option of mounting them wherever you like so you will need to figure out how you'd like to mount them in the location you choose. With the box apart you have the option to paint inside the box before you weld it together. Welding will obviously burn some of the paint off but the majority of the inside will still have paint.
Price $100 plus shipping. I only have 19 left so get them while they last.
The reproduction windshield frames in the last two pictures are not included but are availabe for $135 each.

I want to make some top bow brackets but before I go ahead and make them I'd like some input as to how many are needed. These would be fully machined, not cast. I checked into casting them but even being cast there is still some machining needed to be done afterwards. Being machined they will be consistant and stronger than cast. The price will depend on how many will be made. Please let me know what you think you might need. Price will be around $20 each depending on quantity.

Paul I'll need 6ea. for Kathleen. I'll take one of the window boxes too.

Don G.
-
Paul,
I need 5.
-Tom
-
I need 5, as you already know... thanks again for all the VERY nice repro parts you have made fore me. they all fit perfect!!!
-
The long awaited door latches are finally here!! These are 100% custom made even down to the custom made springs inside. All internal parts are machined from 4140 prehard tool steel for long life. Original latch internals were cast. $180 per side or $320 for the pair (left and right). If you buy one side now for $180 and decide later to buy the other side I will honor the $320 a pair price, so the second one to you would be $140.

Here's my new window box, I love it.
Not any room to mount it anywhere on the M16A1 but better than just leaving them on the floor or wrapped in a blanket. I like how there is just enough room to store the wipers in it also.

Hello do you still have the steering wheel?
-
Hi Paul,
Your parts have all been great!! We're getting close to completing the Track! One question, do you make the rear grab handles that are on the door and the upper outer corners of the rear armor? Thanks!
-
Paul, newbie to this site but not on others, just wanted to compliment you on your excellent craftsmanship and from what I see regards your pricing an obvious passion for our art, or as my wife calls it, MY ADDICTION.
You remind me of another outstanding American from WI, Kevin Kronlund, a good friend and someone whose love and passion for everything WWII was about the hobby, not just about the dollar or gouging folks. Kevin meet his end in a tragic accident way before his time (54 yo) and we in the community lost a great advocate and friend! I am sure some on this site knew and spent time with Kevin, and all would agree.
Just wanted to thank you for your commitment and to wish you much luck in your future.
Mark

Mark,
Thank you for your kind words. The last several months I’ve been working on a huge project and haven’t visited this page so I just now saw your comment. You pretty much summed up the reasons I do what I do. It’s not about the $$$, to me it’s all about keeping the history alive and honoring the WW2 vets. Keeping prices low on the parts the more likely it is someone will finish their Halftrack. It’s really discouraging when you are trying to restore something and the people you buy parts from only care about how much money they can squeeze out of you for a part or want outrageous shipping and handling charges. It’s even more discouraging when you find out the part doesn’t fit properly. Countless hours have been put into making sure everything turns out perfect and it’s good to hear when people appreciate it.

Hi Paul,
Do you have any of the Windshield Storage Boxes left?
Thanks
-
Yes I do. I just sent you a pm about it
-
Do you have the choke/throttle cables in stock again?
-
I have them but just need paint before I can ship them out. Or I can slightly discount if you want to paint them yourself with the color you're using for your halftrack

Glovebox locks back in stock. $45 each plus shipping

These are the rings that screw on to outside threads on the gas tank filler fittings. The rings are what tie the gas tank cover and tank together. The two small holes in the ring are for a spanner wrench to assist in tightening the ring.
There are some reproduction tanks that do not have the outside threads machines into them. These rings will not work on those tanks.
$70 per ring plus shipping

Hello Paul,
Have you considered making fuel tank filler screens? These are the tall mesh cylinders located under the fuel tank caps. I have one that I could loan you as a pattern. I purchased a set of your locker box's for my M2A1, very nicely done.
