I'm in the process of having the side doors upper armor pieces water jeted out and a question came up on the location of the footman loops that hold the canvas weather doors when the armor is down. I found out the M16 didn't have footman loops but the M3 and scout car did. The scout car door is longer however so those dimensions won't work. Does anyone have dimensions for the M3 side door footman loops they could share ?
thanks

Hi Bud,
Haven't heard from you in a while. How is your track coming along? Here is what you are after. These holes should be in the upper door CAD file you have but here is the info you are after.

All the holes are 3" up from the bottom edge.
1st. hole for footman loop is 3/4" from back, forwards. Holes for each footman loop are 2-5/16" apart from center.
1st hole for 2nd footman loop is 7-1/2" from back edge.
1st hole for 3rd footman loop is 23" from back edge.
There are 3 footman loops total. Hope this helps.

thanks Steve,
I'll pass those to the water jet shop today. the file I have is only for the scout car door which is longer so the footman loop pattern doesn't work. I'll incorporate what you sent me today into a new drawing and DXF file for the M3 door and send it to you. Progress has been slow but steady. I just came up with a special bracket for using a modern hydrovac in place of the original .photo to follow. If there is interest I could make a drawing of it also.

Hi I would be interested as I think I'll go with the modern hydrovac on my new track.

I would be interested. I threw in the towel trying to fix the original. Which hydrovac are you using? I just bought the vacuum type.
