Have to get my brakes up and working soon and looked at the brake section. I have a nos hydro vac that's never been installed but I'm leaning on the side that the seal are all dried up now as it 50 plus years old. I'll rebuild it some time down the line but for now I was going to order the modern replacement. Have any of you ever used the diaphragm type 51-8030 from cardone as that's the one I'm thinking of getting. Let me know if you've used this type or tried something different that works. Thanks

Kevin Lockwood (col.halftrack on this site) has upgraded these and can supply modern components.

Kevin is the go to guy for all your brake part needs. His prices are fair to.

Emailed Kevin doesn't have anything in right now

I currently have that one mounted in my track. I picked it up at a local carquest store. While mine is not running right now I have driven one with that booster, the brakes worked great. It does take up some room but it will fit. I can post picks if you need some.

Speaking of the Hydravac, on the Lubrication Order in the Manual it says to lubricate the Hydravac thru the plugs at the top and rear of the cylinder. (see figure 44). I know there was another post that said 30 wgt oil was fine for the "Hydravac Air Filter" but is it OK for the Cyl too? Thanks.

I used 10WT hydraulic jack oil. You can get it at any auto parts store.

Thanks for the reply Jon! 10 wt is what I'll do!
