Title: Interesting numbers
Post by: Machman on September 05, 2017, 02:59:41 PM
I found this on the side panel of the bonnet (hood to you yanks  ;D ) while stripping the paing off trying to find origial markings.

Obviously the IH = International Harvester as its an M5 but do the other numbers mean anything or are they just part numbers? THe ones on the other side are totally different.

Hi  not an expert on IH but if they are like white there is the manufacturer  stamp a plate number and then a "batch number or lot number" like most things us they tracked most parts thru manufacturer to using so if any issues arose it was easy to track and fix

Cheers robert, interesting!
Do you have the number for the side diagonal by the drivers seat? I was told it had something in comparison to the chassin number?
