Hi Guys,
Just wanted to pass this info along. I sent my horns in to be rebuilt. The company is:

My horns were completely degreased and stripped of paint. All castings inspected then the guts replaced with all new Delco NOS parts. Everything repainted and tested. Here are the results below.

The total cost was $249.00 that includes shipping.

Those cables are the originals after he cleaned them in the ultrasonic cleaner. I did get new ones though with my Vintage Wiring of Maine harness.

do they sound like a 75 chevy truck now?

the originals are very old horn (fog horn) sounding
I have been able to get most of the old ones working by just cleaning the contacts inside.

These Delco horns were used on many vehicles from the 40's, 50's. My 1951 Chevrolet truck uses the same horns and mounting brackets but are 6 volts instead of 12. Here is are some photos of my Chevy truck NOS set and comparison to those on the halftrack.

I'm missing the chrome cover for one of my horns.  Anyone know of a "modern" replacement?

So the Horn Works won't touch my horns.  Anyone else have a place they can recommend for horn restoration?

Did they say why? They are a common type of horn, just the screens are rare.

I mentioned him working on yours but he said he didn't work on horns that old...only back to the 60's or so.  He did refer me to a gentleman down in Texas who seemed pretty knowledgeable and willing to tackle them...sending them out tomorrow.  I'll keep everyone posted on that they turn out.
