My cluster gauges have been in the hands of three people who claimed they could fix it. Got it back from Bobs Speefometer in Michigan today and found they put the wrong gas gauge in it (wrong needle and only goes to half tank) and the other gauges still do not work even though they claim to have tested them. Who can fix these things ?

I use Williamson's Instruments,Inc. Web sight is www.williamson's.com I've got good service from them. I've had bad experience with Bob's Speedometer also.

That's too bad that the place that is only a few minutes drive from my house has a bad rep! Figures. Good luck with your gauges.
Oh well, I was going to try to do them myself anyway....

I’m giving them a second chance. I just sent my gauge back to Bob’s

I have used AutoInstruments, out of Martinsville, VA for all my muscle car gauge restorations.
I gave them my halftrack gauges, and they did an outstanding job.
Figure I would share the information. Best of luck to everyone's projects!

The cluster gauges are pretty easy to do. If you carefully pry the the bezel ring loose you can replace the glass. Daryl decals work really good. Speedometer is more complicated.

ColKing may have had success with Autoinstruments but 16 months later and they are still working on my gauges (cluster, speedo, voltmeter). They finished the cluster and shipped it back but made a mistake; the green plastic velum windows and rivets I sent were replaced with green sticky tape....on the inside! It was stuck to the plastic shipping bag. They’ve misplaced parts I’ve sent (I took photos of everything before I shipped) and lost all the dash mounting brackets. I will pick these up in person so I can get all of my parts back. I’ve heard “They’ll ship next week” since last November and I’ve even given them slack with the stupid pandemic too. I’ll have to follow-up any problems with Williamson in Arkansas for future projects.

What a pain. Sorry you had to go through all that nonsense. Thanks for posting the results - it's good to know who to avoid.

Go to Dave Yamulla, 570-454-5674. He has individual NOS gauges or buy a French gauge cluster and re-face it American colors or leave it alone. I run French speedometer and gauge cluster in mine and works great! the only difference in the French gauge cluster from American are the colors. I have not heard any good things about Bob's Speedometer other than stay clear of them. I have used Abbott Instrument Restorations, 503-246-1287, and am very pleased with their work. The only problem is they have a good year to year and a half back log of repairs to do but they do a good job.
