Title: M4 progress

So my halftracks serial numbers indicate it was an M4. Here are some of the parts I pulled off this weekend.

Hey Dan,
Track looks good. I have been pulling m4 parts from my stash if your still interested.
I have the rear mortar mounts, rear back panels, skate rail, m4 halftrack parts vehicle with the rear floor. Im ready
to get rid of some of these projects and will be listing more stuff soon. let me know if your still interested in building
it back to an m4

Hey Dan,
 You and I may have already talked about this. The pieces you are removing are for a quad fifty. What is the frame number and / or the data plate info for this track?

Serial number is- 250032. We have talked about it before. The only data plate present was one from Southern Parts. I'm wondering if Southern Parts just threw parts from an M16 on there to make it a flatbed? Which would be more useful to a rancher? I did buy it from the rancher.

That is a very interesting halftrack. Look at the rear frame gussets, they extend forward and curve down inside the frame in front of the rear crossmember. Was that M4 specific? Be cool to return it to M4 but that's easy for me to say sitting here in front of my pc.  ;D

Dan- 250032 is definitely in the group of frame numbers assigned to M4 half-tracs. Sad that the data plate was missing.
Jon - It is possible that this may have been a M16B.
Clint - Those brackets were for the bipod pins of the 81mm mortar to set in.

I really do want to go back with the M4 configuration. I'm going to fix everything else first and leave the rear until last. All I lack is finishin up!

Kevin look at the pintle  the gussets on the frame just below the rear bed bracket
There are wings folded down that is the brackets to which Clint is asking about

Kevin noted that they are specific to the M4 in his post above. That's a cool halftrack but of course they all are lol.

Mea culpa  I was turned around and was thinking he was speaking of the base mount :-\
