Hello all,
I guess I am trying to confirm that there is no current new production bogie wheel rubber tires that can be pressed on to restored bogie wheels? Is the only method having them sent out for recapping or is there a forklift/ industrial solid tire anyone is aware of? just started looking into it and working on my 1st half-track. Any info is appreciated
Thanks,
Ryan

It's cheaper to re tread your current bogies than it would be for any forklift tire that you could press on.

Ryan, a place in St. Louis is doing a batch of wheels right now. They basically are using a poly composite mix, like a resin to create new tread. It should last nearly forever and is about $100 per wheel to do. Not sure how far along you are in getting the wheels disassembled as it is a job and a half but you might want to consider this option for your wheels.
