Title: Tach refurb
Post by: spec4don on February 04, 2011, 10:24:29 PM
Well i tried my hand at refurb on my tach came out pretty good least ways it works. I'm looking for the glass for the gauge. I'm going to try that hot rod John that Steve turned us on to. He has glass for 2 5/8 gauges. I think that is what the tach is. My first gauge had the glass the second one I'm doing the glass was broken.  :(

I think I'll try the instrument panel next. se how that comes out. I'll try making decals and see how that goes.

PS Autocar did you ever get your tach to work right? . I'll bet it's just dry. there is a piece in side with a plug and a wick. You may just need lube.

No, I have not looked at it, been busy.  Figure I'll get to it in the spring and see what happens.

The 2 5/8's glass the guy has is too small for the track. But the 5" glass he has for the main gauge panel is killer. I have one gauge that has cutting slag all over it.
