Title: Cluster guage restoration
Post by: emptyhead on February 02, 2020, 06:10:20 AM
Question for those of you that have restored your cluster guage, the only face plate that unscrews form my cluster setup is the fuel guage the rest are riveted on. How did you clean your guage faces to paint and decal them. Thanks. Also does anyone have a color code for the od paint on the bezel ring. Thanks

I have been drilling out the rivets on my face plates.  They were all riveted on.  I don't have any rivets small enough to put them back on so, after I restore the face plate, I screw it back on the gauge.

I painted the bezels the same green as the rest of the halftrack.

I left the face plate on when I fixed my oil pressure gauge. Just be careful around the needles.

You have a much steadier hand than I.  That needle would've been absolutely mangled if I would've tried that!   ;D
