No headlights but I see the marker lights are in the corners of the guards.

Glass glint gives your position away, sure they were the 1st things to go along with any windshields.  The French 75 equipped tracks were a disaster at Kasserine Pass as antitank weapons and most were given to the Marine Corps for the island campaign's where they served with distinction as direct assault weapons system.

My understanding is that firing the 75mm would tend to blow out the headlights also.

Looking at the left fender and light guard, there may have been other reasons to remove them on this track.

Interesting clips and wiring on the armor...anyone ever seen this before?  Maybe for attaching foliage for natural camouflage like on German armor?

Also note the pioneer rack on the side behind the driver's door.

Pretty cool vehicle the M3 75mm Halftrack. Maybe the headlights got damaged and they took them off.
