Title: Registration and inspection
Post by: emptyhead on October 22, 2020, 05:01:42 PM
I’m in ny and just got my plates, they would only give me commercial plate because of the weight. Anyone know what I should expect when getting the halftrack inspected. Thanks

It’s so different from state to state, it’s hard to say. In California, the Department of Motor Vehicles never even saw my HT. I had almost no paperwork to start with. You might have to do some explaining on why there are two tail lights but only one brake light works. My HT came from a construction company in NY, and they had put turn signals on it, which I replaced and updated for safety and ease of driving. I added conventional brake lights too as well as the original. Good luck!

Here in Oregon other then getting a VIN inspection from the local DMV all my paperwork went the main office in Salem. After I got my Antique Plates, one time fee, and I never have to deal DMV again.
