Title: Tail lights

Are the Halftrack Tail lights 6v or 12v? My track has what I think is resistor pack (ive seen these for sale on JR parts) which I think steps down 12V to 6v however I see some posts which state they should be 12v.

The half-track tail lights are 12V. The resistor is for the trailer recepticle as the trailers have 6V lights.

Also the BO drive head lights are 6v

Can you explain a little more? If the normal lights are 12v, Is there something else to change when you swap the normal lights to BO lights?

The BO light on the early M2's if so equipped and the later BO pedestal lights are 6V and use a resistor to drop the voltage. The BO pedestal light uses a different contact pin than the pedestal driving light. Just as the voltage is dropped by a different resistor going to the trailer light socket as all trailers are 6v.

The blackout driving light resistor on mine is on the upper left, outside of the firewall. The four holes under the surge tank is another location where they are sometimes mounted. See the link below for more info:

Every day is a school day, I get it now, I hadn’t realised the black out lamps use a different pin set up, makes perfect sense now.
