Probably a stupid question but are the bearings in a TA steering box the same size as a T? I know they were beefed up but not sure if that means EVERYTHING got bigger. Thanks in advance

Are you referring to the top and bottom steering shaft bearings for the worm gear? If so, there are two cups each with a set of ball bearings. The cups are not interchangeable between "T" or "TA" columns. It's all in the parts manual. I'm not sure if the cups are still available from suppliers but the ball bearings you can get at any supply store. Just measure the diameter and order how ever many you need. As for tolerance, this is done with shims between the gearbox case and column tube. You can get a new shim kit. It is the same used on an M35 column. The upper column bearing, under the steering wheel, is also the same as an M35. Here is my steering column rebuild. It is a "T" column.
