hello scott
thats a very good start.

your starter is not original. could you get me the part number off it?
i would like to add the info from it in to the site. looks like we will have a aftermarket replacement starter for our halftracks.

I just had a look at the starter motor but unfortunately can't seem to locate a model number.

Looks like everything you have there is clean and straight. That means you can continue on with the resto, you don't necessarily have to tear it all down before you start.

Starter looks like a starter out of a mid 90's dodge dakota.

Looks really good  ;D You should have a lot of fun with it. The halftrack draws a lot of attention.

i have heard from a farmer that starters from john deere tractors work.
they are direct drive starters and halftracks are gear reduction. yours looks like it may be direct drive and that may turn these engines over faster.  which is good.
