I have done this before but it was over ten years ago. I need to re-wire the plug that inserts in the rear of the fender mtd headlamp. There is a knurled nut that threads off the harness end. There are two screws used as contacts for high and low beam that thread out. How do I get the plastic insert out of the plug body so that new wires can be inserted???
Thanks

Hoping someone can refresh my memory

Kevin,
I took one apart today and this is what I found. The housing is two part. Unscrew the rear porting and set it aside or move back on wire loom. Next, the two contact points are actually screws. If you unscrew all the way a brass threaded nut with a loop falls out the inside. From what I guess is put the stripped wire through the loop. Inset brass nut back into hole and tighten screw till tight. I think the screw will tighten up against the wire. The black inset does not come out. See photos below.
