Title: rear idler wheel bearing setup
Post by: andy on April 25, 2014, 02:37:12 PM
Ok, looking thru all the manuals I have and i must be blind or its not listed. What is the procedure to set the rear idler wheel bearings. All the manuals show is to install and put cover on

This is one of the last few steps before putting tracks on for me,
thanks
Andy

I am sure they are ball bearings, just tighten the nut up, there is a spacer between the bearings.

Thanks guys, that makes total sence now looking back as i was worried about preload but the bearings arnt tapered so thats not an issue. So tighten till snug?, not reef it or airgun it

You want it tight enough the inner bearing races don't "walk" around the shaft...but it isn't really an issue, we aren't going to drive them that much.
