I use the heavy duty red stuff. It seems to work OK for me. You just need a good heavy duty axle grease. My first grease job took around 1 to 2 tubs of grease per hub. Just don't over fill them as it will lock up the hub. This happen to Don with one of his hubs. We ended up taking the grease fitting out to release the pressure in the hub and it freed up.

Steve,
By tubs do you mean tubes for a grease gun or tubs as in hand packing the bearings?
Mike,
Why marine grease?

I use my halftrack on regular basis. In all weather marine grease seems to hold up better for wet and dry days.

Working on heavy equipment I have found castrol pyroplex blue to work exceptionally well. It actually is designed to become more sticky if exposed to moisture. It also works well under extreme pressure.
