having armor screws, nuts and hinges reproduced
« on: April 04, 2013, 11:39:34 AM »
i checked into having armor screws reproduced and this is what i came up with.

www.alibaba.com is where most businesses go to have things made in china, japan, ect.
alibaba is kind of like ebay in some ways.
you list the part you want made in detail with pics.
companies or brokers for companies will bid on making the part for you.
you can leave feed back on the sellers albiaba membership, like ebay.

make deals only through albiaba, you will get offers from outside.
do not pay with western union the albiaba escrow service is best. http://www.alibaba.com/help/safety_security.html

i have heard that some companies are good at providing you with samples of the part you are having build but the finished parts sent to you will be low quality, you may want to have an inspection done. this is done by a third party that you would pay separately. its easy through albiaba.

the offers you will receive will not include shipping or $200-$400 for the mold to produce the part,

if you want samples of the parts you will need to pay for the mold they will need to make to produce the part plus about $30 for the samples.

shipping is offered by some of the sellers but only to a sea port. you need to contact a shipping broker to ship the parts from there to your place.
they will ask you how you would like them packaged. 100 per carton, 500 pre carton, ect
they may contact you by phone and try to talk to you through a speech translator, you wont be able to understand anything.

i received over 50 offers to make the screws from 0.02 to 0.04 cents each.
you will get offers like the one i received bellow but that does not include shipping or mold fees and i would reject it because they list payment as western union and no inspection.

we could have hinges, nuts and screws made up
