Windshield glass size
« on: June 19, 2012, 09:47:26 AM »
Anyone have the correct dimensions to get the windshield glass cut to ?

I'm getting ready to install the glass into recently acquired frames and hoping someone has the exact dimensions, otherwise I'll measure and make templates to give to the glass service (last time I did this with my Jeep, they asked for the old glass to use as a template but the glass in these frames is long gone !).

The frame opening is easy to measure but not sure how much of the glass is supposed to sit in the slot, especially with the rubber strip in place around the periphery.

Thanks,

Phil.

The windshield glass is actually two seperate pieces that can be removed when the window is closed.  The glass is incased in metal trim.  I can get you the dimensions later on, unless someone else beats me to it.

I finally found the two separate metal pieces after a long search and if you can provide the glass dimensions, this would save me some measurement/guess work as I figure there must be some allowance for the seal applied to the glass and still slide in to the trim slots snuggly.

Thanks,

Phil.

Measured up an original windshield pane, thought I would post measurements. height: 9.812",  long side: 27.437", short side: 26.437" and .226 thick.  Barry
