Choke / Throttle Cables
« on: December 22, 2014, 10:14:21 PM »
I have been looking at the choke / throttle cables for my vehicle. I have been looking at the ww2 jeep cables that are available and was wondering if anyone has used these or could someone provide details of the correct lengths required for each of these cables for a halftrack.

Scott.

I used the choke and throttle cables from a jeep and got them from Ron Fitzpatrick's Jeep Parts. They seem to work fine for me.

Does anyone have a picture of the choke and throttle cable locations on their carburetor for the White engine?  It appears that the choke is in the correct position and working but the throttle cable was never hooked up and I can’t tell just exactly where it goes or if I missing a swivel or not.  Thanks,

Todd

Todd -

Here are a few pictures of the throttle cable parts on mine:

Left rear corner of carburetor base, looking forward. The cable bracket attaches to the carburetor base stud.

Same parts, looking forward.

Looking down.

I don't know if I have any pictures of the choke cable but there are lots of pictures on this site of the engines, engine compartments and firewalls and the choke setup and routing of the cables should be pretty visible. I hope this helps.

Jon,

It sure does.  I have the swivel on the left side of the carb but I'm apparently missing the metal tab with the clamp on it.  After checking some of the other pictures out it looks like I'm missing the tab for the return spring on the other side too.  I appreciate the help with this.

You're welcome. Here's the throttle return spring, etc. in case you need it:

Good luck with your project!

Yep, definitely missing that little tab that goes on the base of the carb for the return spring. Thanks again for the pictures!!
