Windshield wiper motor repair
« on: December 13, 2010, 09:05:11 PM »
If you want to repair your wiper motors or send your NOS ones in to be gone through here is the person to do it. Wiperman.com home of Ficken Wiper Service. I've used them to rebuild a wiper motor for my Chevy truck and did a great job. In most applications its $99 for the rebuild and $8 for return shipping. It also includes a 3 year warranty.

I just got mine back from Rob and he does real nice work - I have used him on three of my vehicles so far.   I just don't have the time to rebuild them myself, etc so I just send them off to him.   He does nice work and is top notch.  Funny thing... I was talking about some guy that makes a living rebuilding old wipers (Rob F) at work and my co-worker said his name!   She is close friends with him!  What a small world!

Well after an exhaustive search on the webb, I think I finally found a place that sells the rebuild kits for the the wiper motors. They also sell just the bowl gaskets like 2.39 a set. From the pictures it looks like the same set up. The gaskets were like 2.39 per set and the kits were $28 and some change.

I let you know how it turns out when I get them and rebuild my motors.

UPDATE: The wiper motor kits I got are the correct ones for the Trico 618A. I ordered 2 kits and 4 sets of gaskets. It says they are for early Ford Model A's but everything looks good. Here is the link to the company I got them from:

Don and I just got back four wiper motors we sent in to have rebuilt. They work fantastic now. The NOS motors were seized out of the box. We sent them into Ficken Wiper Service and he did a great job. He also included four military (green) blades and civilian arms at no charge. I highly recommend him. Did I mention the motors have a three year warranty? They do, all for $107 each which includes shipping back to you.
