Installing rear idler sprocket posts??
« on: September 17, 2015, 05:39:28 PM »
Hello All,
I am going to install my rear idler posts back into the frame. I am going to press them into the outer frame mounts first then into the frame. Has anybody done this and can you offer any helpful hints or tricks?

Thanks Gary

I talked to a few owners at TOM that have done this and what they did is have both inner and outer brackets inplace but loose. They also chucked the shaft in a lath to remove any high spots or imperfections. The shaft slid right in and then everything was tightened up. Good luck.

Thanks for the additional info Steve. So far the posts have been put back in the outer brackets. I also had the idler shackle posts in and out. So far they are going back together easier then when they came apart. I am cleaning up the shafts and removing any burrs before putting them back in place.
