gauge face plates
« on: January 02, 2016, 12:18:11 AM »
has anyone tried to replicate the actual face plates for the gauges? I have 2 donor speedos, and tach and voltmeter that have rotten faces.

I've repaired one by bead blasting then using a glaze then wet sand it down and paint. I used a fine metallic silver. I do remember someone was going to make a die for the faceplates, Darryl maybe?

We are NOT finished with the face plates, but here are a couple of pictures of test plates that have been run so you can see the quality...Picture #1 is of stamping  tooling and photo #2 is of art work only on a flat plate in order to show size and color only, not the finished product............These will be available from the same people that made the halftrack lube charts....hopefully available in the next few weeks.

I would be interested in 1 or 2 faces. They look great! Now we need someone to do needles.
