New HT owners
« on: May 27, 2017, 09:16:28 PM »
Hello all.  My brother and I officially became half-track owners today after over 2 decades of hoping.  I'm sure he and I will be here often with plenty of questions, some probably annoyingly simple.  Here are some pictures of the parts and pieces we were able to acquire.  If I understand these serial number decryption posts correctly, we have a White M2 (well, a least a little bit of one) and a Autocar M2 (a little more of this one).  It looks like the White has a serial number of 230202 and the Autocar a serial number of M2-13.  I may not be correct, can y'all help verify this for me?  I have attached a couple of pictures.

Thanks!

Corey

Edit:  I'm having troubles attaching pictures, so I'll try again to attach a couple later.

Corey,
Welcome to the forum.  You'll find that no question is too simple or too annoying.  But we all like pics and to follow the progress of restorations, so get good at posting pictures!

Looks like you have a good start there with the Autocar.  Hope you got the armor plates stacked up on the back too!

Corey,

Your Autocar is just about the same condition as mine when I bought it.  I'm still going through my restoration and just make sure you buy all the manuals as they are worth their weight in gold.

Welcome aboard!

Thanks for all the welcomes and well wishes.  I got several PM's with worthy advice and parts for sale.  I appreciate the inviting feeling from everyone so far!  We have brought back a pile of parts/tracks/armor but have not gotten either of the HTs back home yet.  They are 4+ hours away so we need to just get the equipment together and make one or two more trips to get everything home.  So far, everything is basically what we expected; however, I have been a little bummed after finding out there was no intake/exhaust manifolds, carb, or fuel pump.  I thought the motor was basically complete.  Oh well, this is all part of the adventure!
