I found that for shipping freight, Fastenal has the best prices.  Get a quote from them from their 3rd Party Shipping Services.

Sent my wheels off this morning through Fastenal.  One thing to note with the Fastenal third party shipping, I had not used it before so I was not familiar with the rules.  I was told that anything that fits on a 48x48 pallet and weighs less than I believe 125lbs  has the same base price from where you are shipping.  The price goes up every 20 or 25lbs by $5.  I guesstimated my weight on the high side, in the end maybe by 100lbs.  The guy at the store said they don't verify weight, they go off what they are told.  I should have been on the low side and I could have saved a few bucks.  all in all not too bad, $205 from Michigan if anyone is wondering.  That's for 20 wheels crated.

I've used Fastenal's 3PL several times now and am very pleased. You can use any size pallet or crate. I've made my own pallets and crates in the past. My last shipment was 3500 pounds and was only $600 to ship. Shipping prices seem very reasonable each time.

I have a batch of bogies down in St. Louis waiting to be redone.  If anyone else wants to get in on this order, let me know as Rich, who's handling it wants to get the order done.  Thanks guys!

Thinking about getting in on this. The wheels need to have all the old rubber stripped off before they are shipped then the rusty wheels get sandblasted at the retread shop, is that correct? I think I have a set ready to go just need to be sure how the process works.

No, just need to send them in!  Removing the old rubber and blasting is all included in what they do.

Brad and Rich,

I have 16 that I want to send and have a few questions:

1.  What's the shipping name and address?
2.  Did we get a firm price per wheel yet?
3.  Also, does Fastenal ship directly to this company?
4.  Is one of the members colleting money or do we send directly to the company?

Thanks!
Paul

Fastenal is a store to store shipper. They do not deliver to a address.

Dinadin on this site, AKA Rich, is handling the orders for this company.  PM him or PM me for his info.  The cost will be no more than $110 per wheel. The more people that can there's redone, we can get the price down to per wheel as little as $90. The shipping would go to Dinadin (Rich) and he handles the rest.

Sorry for the lack response on here.  I delivered 100 wheels to the shop a couple of weeks ago.  They did not give me a time frame, I will see about getting an estimate this week.  The guys said that they would jump on them right away.  As of right now I have two prices.  The first one is if you pay me before they are done and I don't have to pay for them with my credit card, it is $110 per wheel.  If have to pay for them with the credit is card it is a 4% convenience fee, which will make it $115.  These prices already include the taxes.  I already have one full set paid for and several sets half paid.  The shop told me that could give them to me in batches as they do them.  If that is case, I will send them out as the sets are paid for.  If you have any questions you can contact me directly.

Wow!  I just got an update from the shop.  To be honest I delivered them on January 7th and as of today, the 16th, they have 34 of them done.

Stupid question
I have NOS wheels already...when I change out the wheels, is the old wheels something I should save for someone to get covered? or are they enough out there just deep 6 them?
