well normally that piece is flat, it goes behind the front armor, maybe a spacer, not sure, have only seen it on one other halftrack

It looks like the spacer between the front cross member and lower radiator armor plate. Some halftracks used this and some used washers.

Thanks, that explains why I had to add some spacers to get things to fit. You guys are amazing.
