Horn ground
« on: September 03, 2018, 07:18:59 AM »
Got a question about how the horn is grounded. Is there aseperate wire that goes from the horn plate to the steering column. The last bit of the steering column on my halftrack is rusted away so I don’t know if that is suppose to contact the horn plate. Thanks guys

David - This is out of the Base Shop Data book. Sorry I couldn't get it to attach right side up. I hope it helps anyway.

I just went through this problem on my HT. Believe it or not, the wire runs all the way down the inside of the steering tube and out a hole in the bottom of the steering gear box. At that point it goes into the loom and makes its way to the horn relay as the ground wire.
