After not having any luck finding the armor I needed, I’m grateful for all the drawings provided by Tim Sutter and found on the forum under “m2/m2A1 rear armor and bed”, "M2 rear armor drawings". With more people having to fabricate their armor and not having a nearby half-track to measure, I thought I should mention what I found while making my own M-2 upper rear panel, H-50. I think there’s a couple more small discrepancies on the drawing for Piece 5: Holes 3 and 16 should be at about the same level as the footman loops, which are at 8”, not 7-1/8”. This became evident when I marked the top holes for the grab handles, which are at 7” and slightly inboard from the armor bolts. Also, end holes 4 and 15 should be at 13-3/4”, not 13-7/8” like the rest of the bolts along the bottom. This is confirmed by the holes in my original corner angle iron, and the panel below this one has the same configuration of the two end bolts being 1/8” farther from the edge than the rest of the row. I’m trying to make this as close to the original as possible and if I have any of that wrong, I hope someone will correct me. Thanks.
