Bought a M45C Quad for my M16
« on: December 18, 2020, 04:08:17 PM »
My M45C was delivered late on Tuesday. I had a look over it on Wednesday and I’ve taken some photos. There’s some parts missing, some need straightening and a few need replacing.

Things missing,
The generator set (already got one coming this week)
What I think is called the Voltage box (any one seen a seller?)
All 8 gun locking pins.
Wheels ( not really needed)
Jacks (not really needed)
Sight.
One ammo guide on the ammo box mount

Things damaged, and need replacing,
Canvass seat (can get one easy enough).
The tube that holds the sight (no idea where to find one)
Possibly right trunnion sprocket thingy (not sure)

Things to be repaired,
Lots.

I’m not sure if this is ex-Italian sold to the Greeks or if the Italians (FIAT) reconditioned them for the Greeks or if it actually has zero to do with the Greeks.

Thanks, it will be a future project as the M16 needs to be finished first. I got it in a deal for another M16 from BAIV. I got a good deal after chatting with Ivo Snr and recommend having a chat with him if your looking to purchase something from them.

I also did a little research on the Italian data plate and found that it was installed to a FIAT gun truck, a FIAT 639 Quadrinata.

Great you were able get hold of one and able to save it!  Also, nice piece of history behind it as well.

Can someone tell me what the internals of this voltage box look like? I can get the cover easy enough but all the internals are described as relay box and there’s loads of them.

Well done, looks like most of it is there ..Kimberly Clark Turret, (Maxson never built any, instead he contracted with other companies to build them) you mentioned a generator, were you able to source an original generator?

Hi Mark, yes I got hold of a full generator and engine setup, also got a cannoneer step last week so all I’m missing now is the voltage box thingy and a little bracket bit off one of the tombstone mounts. I’ll need to repair/replace a few parts such as seat and the sight mounting tube.
