Front bed suport.
« on: May 05, 2021, 03:33:16 AM »
Can some one provide dimensions for the L shaped support at the front of the M2 bed that the bulk heads and fuel valves bolt to? Thank you in advance for any details!

Is it the same as the M3 (I can see the bolt on fuel tank protectors are different)? I’ve got my M3 one in the back yard I can measure. When I get home I can take a photo to see if it’s the same.

It might be the same dimensionally but the mounting holes are different on the M3 from what i can tell. I could still use the main dimensions I think.

Here's a sketch of the one in my M2A1. Sorry it's cockeyed - I tried to rotate it but it still came out sideways. I hope this is what you're after. The holes are 3/8", except the two on the lower flange which are 1/2" and the two for the fuel valves - I don't know their diameters. The measurements are to the centers of the holes. The height and lower flange width are measured from the inside. You can lay your floor panels in and set the middle seat in place to mark and drill those. If you need the dimensions for the hand-grab, just let me know.   Jon

Just checked mine against the drawing and it’s a near match, my width is 1/8” wider and the bottom of the L piece is 2” rather than 1.5”. Holes appear to align with the drawing also.

You're very welcome. I'm glad to help out. I noticed I left out the vertical dimension for the center of the fuel valves so I replaced the first drawing with one showing that dimension. brit plumber's width looks like a good number - my edges are a little rough and depending on where I pull it from, I could probably get it to measure almost 1/8" wider. The lower flange on mine is definitely 1-1/2" though. The M3's may be wider or maybe different manufacturers had different dimensions?
