What is the serial# stamped on the frame, something like 27xxxx? Maybe it was an M4A1. I've seen those armor mods on other French Army halftracks, there is even a nice one in a musuem somewhere in France iirc.

Interesting. Maybe they used the M4 bumpers since they were putting in a rear door. Best of luck with the restoration I'm sure you will have a lot of fun!

Maybe the halftrack was damaged along with others and they used mix-matched parts to get it back in action again. Just a thought.

question:

from the chassis number, its a M2, I would like to restore M2A1 ok.

you will he keep his headlights or hood attached in Saon then have them back on fenders?

when M2 was transformed from a disassembly of the ring, nothing else changed?

if anyone has any photos of this transformation, I am interested

M15A1 to unload its storage space

subsequently it will restore when the plans will be found for the turret parts manufacturing

it would be unfortunate to do it again

If you haven't seen it on the G503, but talk to Michael Keller about the M15A1 turret.  He is doing an excellent job at making a new one.

Not sure of years of manufacture, but the top one is an all rubber tank. Nice for looks but, do not use it! I don't know about the gas in Europe, but the gas in the states will eat it. Bottom tank is the most common tank. Steel on the inside with a rubber coating on the out side that is supposed to seal punctures in the steel tank.

Just looking at the pictures again I see the top tank has a different kind of cap. I do not know if that is original or something made after the war. Both tanks should use the same gas cap.

Hope that helps,

Steve
