« on: January 30, 2014, 12:16:16 PM »
I see they are a lot of different plate on Dashboard.
An example , the plate for the starter button . They are aluminium plate , brase plate and sticker ( i never see this model before!)

That is pretty interesting. I have a couple plaques on my dash that even Gary doesn't reproduce. I had to clean them up the best I could and put them back on.

There is a guy in Poland who does make plaques, he is on EBAY and there is a vendor in the US that makes them also.

Any of the plates with raised lettering can be refinished. Just strip off the old paint, clean with a wire brush, apply new black paint and let dry, Wet sand (very gently) the lettering and any other area you want bare, Buff the paint with buffing compound and a buffing pad on your drill (once again very lightly). It will probably take more than one try the first time to get the feel of how to do it, but I refinished all mine that came with my HT. I did have to buy one new plate I didn't have.

I see the starter button and the ignition switch are swapped on some dashes. The hole sizes are different so they cannot be switched by mistake. Does anyone know why all manufacturers did not use the same pattern for dash layout?

I was going to start a thread about this,
I saw a bunch with ign switch on top and looked at mine and went ok, then i saw it reversed on one track and thought it was wrong, till i saw a bunch more like it. I have a white and my switch is at top, starter button under it

Just a heads up, the company that was reproducing the data plates in the US was bought out by a parts supplier. They have not yet gone thru the inventory they bought out and said it may be more than a year before they go thru the data plates and offer them for sale. Unfortunately they don't have the man power so they told me.
