Title: Halftrack stuff at the Littlefield Auction
Post by: steve1973 on June 24, 2014, 02:27:28 AM
OK, I've been through the book and web site and her is what I see that is halftrack related. All items will be moved to a storage facility after the auction then the new owner can pick up items their. So, there is an extra moving charg for each item.

Lot 1049, pg 82-83, M16 halftrack expected to bring $75-100K, plus $1122 to move to off site storage location. This is the track that so many people say is built on an M2 chassis. This is not disclosed in the auction book.

Lot 1083, pg 146, M5 Israeli halftrack expected to bring $35-45K, $1320 to move to off site storage.

Now for the parts lots.

P137, used set of halftrack tracks

P155, Halftrack engine, missing carb.

P179, Halftrack engine, French rebuild, missing carb, some parts loose at bottom of crate.

P186, This is an M15 or M3 like Don's with the wrap around idler supports. Parts include (from what I can see) brake shoes perimeter rail pieces, gas tank covers, large stack of M3 luggage racks, head gaskets, tire bead lock rings, that is about all I can clearly make out.

P192, Halftrack engine, missing carb

P223, Winch model halftrack, I can't tell the model, 3 steering wheels, overflow tank, air cleaner or roung radio supression?, radio junction block, roller parts, spare tire, rear floor storage box for an M16?, used set of tracks, that is all I can clearly make out.

P238, Loads of halftrack parts, lots of bogies, bogie hubs, idler outer rings, sprocket assemblies, rear axle assambly, winch and parts, nos fuel tank (rubber one I thing), at least three radiators, halftrack engine no carb, fuel tank covers, seat bottom, e-brake discs?, aluminum floor plates, misc. armor plates, thats all I can make out.

That's it for halftrack stuff that I found so far. I did fine two errors in the catalog so far. They are:

Lot 1012, pg 29, M75 with a Stuart tank discription.

Lot 1075, pg 135, M5A1, in the specifications it lists it having a Continental R-6572 6-cylinder "radial" engine. The engine is actually an inline-6.

Who all are going to the auction? Just curious.

I planning on going.   Not sure I will buy anything but it will be good to see the collection one last time.   Are you coming down for the auction?

Tom,
I won't be down for the auction. Some of the halftrack parts lots are tempting though. I have to much going on and Camp Gleason. Are you coming up for that?

Unfortunately I don't think I am going to make it up for that either.     My summer has just gotten way too busy.  The Halftrack has not had any attention since Tower Park.   I am going to drive my ambulance in a local July 4th parade but thats about it for MV's for a while.   Work, kids and honey dos are taking all of my time lately  :(

I wanted to see the Littlefield collection 1 last time so I registered for the auction.   Unless the parts lots go for little or nothing by the time you pay all of the fees and get the stuff moved probably won't be much of a deal.   Wife says I am not allowed to bring a tank home so there you have it.   Probably just an observer.

i dont know if im going or not.

i tried to buy those rough halftracks once.
they told me 3500 each which i thought was way to much.
i later made an offer on them and they told me they where sold.
