would a halftrack have pulled a 37mm cannon during the war?

Yes early but there are photos in the ETO  after they were removed from main use.

  By the time we got into Europe the more common AT gun was the 57MM, you still saw 37's but they were pretty much useless against German tanks by that point, even the 57 wasn't very effective against later armor! But the 57mm sure looks good back there.
