Title: jerry can holders
Post by: HenryVIII on March 03, 2015, 11:18:31 AM
Hi, I understand there are different types of jerry can holders. I just purchased some post ww2 holders from what I was told. They look great and fit good. But can someone explain what is the difference between ww2 and post ww2. The ones I purchased have USMC stamped on them, I was told this stands for United States Metal Company. I wanted them because My jerry cans have USMC And what better than USMC holders to match.

I've had a quite a few WW2 vehicles and post war M-series come through my yard and I could never see the difference between the can holders, it's the civilian ones that are much thinner material.

Thanks. Yes I have noticed that these are quite a bit heavier than the civilian ones, almost double. Other than that nothing I can find either.
