Title: Questions Rebuilding a Voltage Regulator

The PO had collected two voltage regulator and since the availability of a NOS voltage regulator seems to have dried up, I decided to try to rebuild on.  Took both apart and one was in pretty decent shape, the other was covered in rust.  Sandblasted, painted the top/bottom housing.  The components - Cut out relay, VR relay and current reg relay all seem to move like they are supposed to...Just needed to fix a busted wire. 

The rubber seal between the top and bottom housing couldn't be saved.  Figured I could just replace with some 5/16 in round rubber weather strip? 

The rubber vibration dampeners for mounting the housing to the VR bracket broke off from age.  Unless someone knows where I can order NOS or modern equivalents, I was thinking of drilling out the center and running a threaded stud thru in order to clamp the housing back to the bracket.  Thoughts?

Last question - anyone know where I can get a new data tag.  The lettering is not raised enough to try to restore by painting and sanding.  I could just use the one on the right which is the better of the two.

For the rubber vibration dampeners you can check the usual venders or I got some from a guy at Tower Park. They are NOS and should work fine. I believe they are from an M35. The studs are shorter though. I will check my stash and see what I can do for you. For the data  plate, they are the same as the International M 2-4 truck. I got mine from the guy on eBay selling data plates. His name is Robert and the cost is $25 plus shipping. I can post a link to his site when I get home. Hope this helps.
