Title: interesting parts to dress up your halftrack
Post by: bud44750 on January 21, 2016, 10:51:38 AM
Hi all,
I was wondering if there is much interest in the reproduction WW 2 flamethrower wands I'm currently working on.I don't have tanks but these wands might look great hanging somewhere on your halftrack to dress it up a bit. just testing the waters at this point.

I want to build a M2-7 latter. Seams like it could be useful. Castings look good!

The project is at the stage of machining all the internal parts. it's a slow go , progressing when $$ and time become available but it will get there someday soon, I think they will make an accurate and interesting, though not firing, accessory for any HT. Posted are pictures of the completed nozzle shield casting. ( wrong to put it on the WW2 front hand grip but the threads are the same so I put it on for the picture The WW2 version is made of steel and is a bear to make as an accurate reproduction so that will be the last piece to make.

Those look great, I have a complete working M2-2 and M9 flame thrower.  I sold my E5R1 thrower about a year before I found one of the impossible to find (not impossible b/c I found one on craigslist) fuel and pressure tanks for a M3(A1)/M5(A1) light tank.  It's the system that provides the fuel and pressure for the E5R1 / M3 flame gun mounted in the bow gunners position.

Here is a project I've been working on for awhile since I first tried to get one for my new bumper and hadn't seen any available.  They just arrived from the foundry yesterday and came out extremely well.  :D

It is the armored cover for the end of the winch worm gear housing. I enclosed a picture of my new bumper and another of the location of the winch guard. Hope that helps everyone orient to the odd looking castings .After looking at it for the last 8 months while building the pattern I assume everyone knows exactly what it is.

I just saw this about the winch guard. Two things on it. I also did not know about it.
1. how many of us, after seeing this went out to see if our halftrack had it? I did..
2. maybe you should start a thread on this? the reason I have not seen it was I was thinking this thread was about putting a flame thrower on a halftrack.
One of the few, Frank USMC RET
PS, my halftrack had it!

Bud,  New Guy to forum. I am very interested in a set of grips for a M2 flamethrower as I am building one for display and wand parts are hard to come by. Please let me know if you have a set of castings.  The rough castings of both grips would work as I can finish them. Thanks

What are the dimensions of the tanks? I might have a set in my barn. Thanks, Rob

Hello, I'm also a new guy to the forum, and has anything happened on the reproduction -2/-7 wands for the flamethrowers. I've just been wondering, because these are getting harder and harder to find and also very expensive mainly the -7 wands. I'm really hoping bud can get these going, even if they don't work, because having access to those would be a life saver in the flamethrower community, and if you get them to be functional some how you could get some good money. Good luck bud I believe in you :D
