I pulled the stuck water pump off my M2A1 project and commenced to tear it apart, assuming the bearings had gone Tango/Uniform. I got as far as taking the impeller cover off and - shazam!...it started turning nice & smeewwth! I guess the rust build-up against the cover was all that was holding it and when I broke that loose it was happy again. I scraped and chipped all that back to good metal, reassembled it and all’s well. I had to make gaskets for it, not having any readily available here. I used a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator to maybe stop a fan blade from getting into it and put the pump back on. I darned near forgot to install and safety-wire the fan first! What a pain that would’ve been. I filled ‘er up with antifreeze, reinstalled the one whole belt I have left (new ones are on the way) and fired it up. Success! I know nothing’s free, so I expect it’ll start leaking pretty good any time now. But on the sunny side, the bolts will come out easier when that does happen!
