Title: Radiator armor removal with X-Brace
Post by: WayOffTrack on February 02, 2017, 10:12:59 AM
This is the first halftrack I've had to remove the radiator armor from while the X brace is installed. Man it is tight in there. Any tricks? It looks like I need to remove the linkage that moves the radiator louvers (plus the control rod) before I can pull the entire enclosure. Everything is still attached and the louvers operate perfectly but I need to pull the radiator unfortunately. Maybe I should call the Garage Squad?  ;D

I was able to remove the top bolts from the X brace and finesse the radiator cowling out without removing the flat plate behind the radiator slats that connect them to the pivot mechanism. I removed the inside control handle and clevice and pulled the control rod out with the cowling. Yay.  :)
