Title: Source for the Winch Cable clamp?
Post by: Hammerhead on September 12, 2017, 06:27:41 PM
Any one know of a source of the cable clamp you see in the pictures on the Halftrack winch cables?  You know the cylindrical connector to secure the cable to itself after it has been looped thru the chain.  In fact the cable clamp in the CCKW pictures appears to be identical.  Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I got mine on eBay. Of course it took a while to find the correct one. Do a search for cable nut.

I contacted the guy on eBay and he has more of the double ended 5/8" cable clamps. All you have to do is contact him through eBay. Go to the old listing that steve-0 posted and click ask a question. Hope this helps.

That's interesting, that's not what he told me. This was his reply just the other day "Yes, I have more. How many are interested in? Thanks, Lubomir". I can ask again and if he has any I can get one for you and you just pay me back. Let me know.

He does still have some and they appear from the pictures to be identical to the WWII Cable Clamps.  I just ordered one!  Thanks for this Website Steve!  I would NOT have been able to restore my Halftrack without all the extremely valuable information on Halftrackinfo.com!
