Title: Difficulty Shifting into 4th gear.
Post by: Hammerhead on June 11, 2018, 06:15:16 PM
Hello,
My Halftrack transmission is smooth as silk shifting into 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.  Reverse is no problem either.  The problem is 4th.  I have to slow down quite a bit from the speed I'm in with 3rd to get it to shift to 4th.  Any you guys have that problem?

Are you double clutching?

Hi Steve,
Yes double clutching for sure.  Even downshifting is smooth with double clutching.  Like I was saying, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd are Smooth as can be but 4th is almost impossible without slowing down quite a bit! Weird.

What RPM are you trying to shift at?

What lube is in the transmission?

What RPM is the idle set at on the engine?

80W-90 gear oil in the Transmission, idle is around 700 on the Tach.  I didn't notice what the RPM was when shifting to 4th.  I 'll take Beast out after the MVPA and watch that. Thanks for any info.
