Title: Bogie Upper Roller Differences

Is there a difference between these two bogie upper roller styles?  I initially was led to believe that one style (the second picture) was an early style opposed to the other later style.  But I haven't been able to confirm this. The more I work on these and the more I am around them the more I am questioning if this is true or not.

The second picture is a early type roller.
