Got my luggage racks finished today, they might not be like originals but only have $40 in them. As a old colonel in our groups says (field experience)

Those are nice! The footman loops are a nice touch. They look great.

Would you be able to post some drawings? Awesome job by the way!

Glad you guys approve, don’t really do drawings I Just start cutting and welding here on the farm. Drivers side is 18 1/2 X 26, passenger side 22 1/2 X 26. Used old 1 1/2 in bed frame angle from scrap pile and 1 1/2 flat steel. You might have to go out to armored bolts, I used the 6 studs on each side where I presume there where storage boxes mounted at one time. I’ve noticed in most pictures they do go out to edge of HT. My opinion is that many of these were built in the field from whatever they had available (just like mine!!) attached picture of washer spacer and lock nut.

Racks look great. Does anyone know if the M2 and M3 luggage racks were the same?
Thanks
-
M2 luggage racks are very different from M3 luggage racks. M3 racks overhang each outer side flush with outer edge of mine racks. M2 racks are slightly narrower and stay within the sides and is hinged at top and mounts to the outer edge of step at an angle. M3 racks are flush to back of halftrack.
