Is there a source in the southeast that sells armor to reduce shipping costs?  If not, can anyone recommend anyone (please include contact name and phone number)? Thanks in advance.

I’m in the SE (Virginia) and fell into some 1/4” steel so I’m going to give some panels a try. Will post progress. Going to use Bob’s drawings.

You might also consider water-jetting. I had three panels done and they came out as if they were machined, holes and all. I had to do the counter-sinking. The place I used had a tolerance of .005". I just made up the drawings and he converted those to a usable file. I also had him cut out a track-adjusting wrench from the leftover steel.

How did everything mate up?  Any issues with the drawings?  Wondering if I should go with a local machine shop or order what I need.

They look pretty good. I supplied the tempered steel and will see how the holes line up. It may be more cost effective to have it done locally since my fab guy doesn't drill. Magnetic drills are incredible....,as long as the holes are correct ????.
