Title: Water pump leaking

Hi all,  I need to rebuild my water pump. It is leaking not too bad but  Certainly don't want to run her in this condition. I wont have time to rebuild the pump since it is running in the 4th parade so I am thinking of putting an additive, K Seal,  in the system. Two mechanics who have National radio shows claim that this stuff works and won't harm the system. Any thoughts? thanks, Rob

If it is the pumps shaft seal that is leaking I wouldn't think these types of sealants would be reliable.  If it is a pump housing gasket you should be ok.

you may try running it with the over flow tank cap off or loose so the system does not build pressure.
