Title: Fuel tank interior coating??
Post by: yd328 on October 07, 2019, 05:31:12 AM
I would like to coat the inside of a new fuel tank. What are you guys using or are you just leaving them without a coating?

Thanks Gary

I had mine red coated.  I think the stuff you can buy from the auto parts store is called Red Coat.  I had mine done by a radiator shop, but it is the same thing.

Per Kevin's recommendation, I got Red Kote for mine too but haven't used it yet.

Redkote works well as does PORs product.  Key for true success,  the tank needs to be cleaned rust free.. you mentioned new tank so that is not an issue.  I have done lots of fuel tank, repairs and coating over the years on different vehicles and the key us to have the tanks as clean and rust free as possible.  Most failures for tank coatings comes from poor preperation and failure to allow costs to dry before layering.
