Iv got a roller model m15a1 multi gun carrier that for some reason has a PTO gear box and lever on it. It seems to work fine, but the shaft is pointing to the rear. Is this correct for a m15a1 ? Can the box be flipped around so the shaft aims forward ? The unit looks like it leaks a little oil. I’m considering taking it off and selling but only if it is easy to cap off the hole, it’s the correct unit for winch models, and doesn’t belong on my m15a1. I’m thinking this could be a win win win. I get rid of an oil leak, get some cash for needed parts, and some needy winch model owner gets a part.

I sold my PTO and got a cover from one of the HT suppliers. I can mail you a gasket no charge.

Sounds like someone had put a winch in the back at some point in it's life. You don't have to take the box off to flip the shaft. Basically you take the caps off both ends, pull the shaft out the back and shove it in the front, put the caps on their respective ends and your done. You can look in the manuals to see how they are put together and how the job needs to be done.
