Title: Extinguisher bracket
Post by: Ma Deuce on November 08, 2020, 05:29:34 PM
This is for slu22, I couldn’t figure out how to post pictures in a personal message. Bracket was on HT when I got it, found extinguisher on eBay. Hope this helps.

Is that an alternative mounting position? My bracket is/was mounted on the bulkhead between jump seat and passenger seat.

Not sure but looks good in that position, HT started life as a M13 according to serial number,  bulkhead behind seats go clear across. Most of the armor was removed by a utility company that mounted a boom on rear to set poles.

My extinguisher bracket is the same as this one.It is covered in multiple layers of thick green paint. When stripping it is apparent that the bracket seems to be  made of copper.Once cleaned up( an arduous task due to nooks and crannies) the bracket should look sweet.
It is tempting to leave it copper.Does anyone know if the bracket was always painted OD or was it sometimes left au naturale?

Interesting that it’s copper, I’ve just blasted and primed mine and it’s 100% steel.
