Title: Water Bucket Bracket
Post by: WayOffTrack on August 31, 2021, 03:03:46 PM
There is a bracket on the left side rear wall of the quad mount half-tracks that is for a water bucket, or maybe a bucket of grits. It looks like it mounts lower on an M16A1 than on an M16 and hangs over the bottom edge of the armor wall. Does it just float there or get a spacer behind it? I have two brackets, one with 4 holes and one with 2 holes neither seems to line up with any existing holes and its an original piece of M3 rear armor and the brackets are originals.

Borrowed this image from a friend:-) You can see a ghost image of the bracket and how it hangs over and almost touches the trailer plug socket.

Do these help? The 2 hole repro version here is from BAIV and for the A1, the original version I have had 4 holes which could be either an early M16 version converted to A1, or a version made to fit both vehicles.
